Phishing Scam Warning

We just got an e-mail that appears to come from Mystery Shopper talking about a tremendous opportunity in the United States!  Of course, it’s only an opportunity to give up personal information.

First off, the message was delivered to one of our webmaster@ accounts.  The e-mail address that appears to be sending the message is info (at) haroldvanbergen (dot) com.  We looked that domain up in the whois database and found that it was just created yesterday in Denmark by someone using a Yahoo return address.  We tracked the computer used to actually send the message (the ip address of the sender) to South Africa.

If we were to reply to the message with our personal information, it would go to mysteryshopperllc (at) livedoor (dot) com.  We found this URL to be register out of Japan by a domain holding company, a third country in our message chain.  We weren’t able to find any more information on this address but it probably bounces to yet another address.

Be very careful when responding to unsolicited e-mails!
