Larry Marino has an extensive background in Information Technology, Project Management and Website Development.
Larry has been involved with computer support and programming since 1980 while serving in the United States Navy. This experience naturally led to Internet related services. In 1993, as a government contractor, he designed his first website. That site, while it has changed many times over since then, is still in use today and has been used as a model for other government agencies since.
“When we were tasked with creating that first site back then the web was still pretty new. Windows NT was still being distributed on the old 3 1/2″ floppy disks back then. Most people connected to the internet at speeds of 9600 baud or less. To put that in perspective with todays DSL and Cable connections… A 9600 Baud model transmitted at about 9.6 Kbit/s. Today’s DSL connections operate at an average of 160,000 Kbit/s. We had some serious graphic limitations at that speed! With speed comes new and exciting capabilities!”
